"Reflections on Urbanization: From Village to City"

This nation has become consumptive even when meeting with a movement figure when he said this nation works only two, first working and secondly becoming consumptive.

my fears have happened in the past, a nation that was educated with a culture of mutual cooperation to help each other slowly became apathetic, one thing I think needs to be known that this nation is independent never demands many things. work was passed because in order to live now it's different again we are colonized to work, work and work. live to work.

I remember life in the village when with friends we could have coffee at the coffee shop at a cheap price, we could also go into debt. work was not every day, work was never a big problem in our minds other than just to support ourselves, not the other way around.

For a long time I thought that later this Indonesian human would change drastically, of course change is a certainty that cannot be rejected even if we want to be closed to humans throughout the earth.

The real change has arrived, slowly we are excessively suspicious of each other, jealousy and prejudice, especially the door of the house began to be closed between neighbors, I never encountered it before, for life in the village between each neighbor's house is wide open, proving that life in the village is peaceful and trust each other, now it is starting to slowly shift. city habits began to creep into my village, everyone began to be closed with European propaganda language under the pretext of privacy, security, etiquette, and others.

Children used to take turns eating at a friend's house, spending time at a friend's house, a mother understood and would not forbid her child, now that tradition is starting to disappear there is nothing completely wrong because that is the true nature of change. it happens naturally, cultural transmigration between people is always influencing each other. so it will be centered on the power of domination and the power of influence.

I miss the place where i was born and raised. getting to know many people not because of their background. in southern sumatra northern padang lawas made me understand a lot about the life of loving each other. it is true that i grew up knowledgeably outside the city 6 years in medan and the next on the island of java, but the moral intervention was basically in the teachings during my time in the village.

there is nothing more beautiful in this city of people than magnificent buildings and faster access. everything for me is the same, my village is just not central in the capital area. if only the capital remained in Bukit Tinggi West Sumatra like in 1948 maybe my village would be full of transmigrants within the country and abroad, furthermore the people here would be more advanced in terms of access and achievement.

being consumptive is not wrong to be a hard worker either, what is wrong is only when social values are lost from us a nation of culture and establishment. a sense of harmony is lost among us just because of the impack of social novelty that we do not balance with our social norms, really that is what eliminates the distinctive character of this nation. everyone will be liberal in time thinking individually as well as acting, we absolutely do not want that at all.
